WHY SING ?
Quite simply, children need music to fully develop,
- These days children and parents have fewer opportunities to sing.
- By encouraging adults to sing with their children every day, we are helping
parents build relationships and a love of language and learning

THE ROLE OF MUSIC AND MOVEMENT IN
CHILD DEVELOPMENT
SOCIAL SKILLS
It encourages participation, sharing and cooperation
It is part of the early bonding process and part of the basic enculturation of childhood.
PSYCHOMOTOR SKILLS
Develop psychomotor skills by striking the keys on a toy.
Interpret the mood of a lively music through a creative dance
PERCEPTUAL SKILLS
Sensory perceptions of music are not limited to the auditory channel.
AFFECTIVE SKILLS
Music evokes emotional responses.
COGNITIVE SKILLS
Understanding about music is a form of intelligence.
It nurtures other forms of intelligences such as linguistics or logical-mathematical.
Musical Intelligence involves children’s ability to process mentally the tonal aspects of rhythm and
melody.
ABOUT RHYTHM N RHYME
We primarily target to 2 age groups
Bunnies : 2 years – 4 yearsBugs : 6 months – 2 years
We know that repetition of music and rhymes in a beat with predictable pattern stimulates eagerness to learn.
Rhythm n Rhyme is the only parent / child music and movement program in Bangalore since a decade,
promoting coordination, balance, rhythm and self-esteem through music and learning. We have had the
privilege of sharing music with over 4000 infants and toddlers over the past 12 years.
OUR CLASSES HELP DEVELOP
COMMUNICATIONAL TOOL
Strangers become friends when we enjoy the same kind of music.
Kids too find it easier to make friends and feel accepted when a similar
song or rhyme is played that is known to both.
SOCIALIZING
Music teaches cooperation, following directions and developing social
relationships.
Ways and techniques to get along with other people.
TRANSITION
Singing a song helps kids leave one activity behind and go on to
another.
CONFIDENCE
Studies have proven: children express emotions like happiness,
sadness, loneliness, excitement, or being scared by singing or body
movements.
ACTIVE PARTICIPATION
Active participation in music (singing) increases retention, builds memory, and
actually helps grow the brain in young children! Because children naturally love
to sing, there is no “teaching,” just doing! An action-song provides a child the
opportunity to integrate rhythm, body percussion and vocalization.
PHYSICAL & MOTOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Rhythm n Rhyme supports physical and motor development through activities
that promote:
• Gross and fine motor skills
• Locomotor and non-locomotor skills
• Coordination
• Body awareness and control
• Bilateral coordination/crossing the midline
• Spatial awareness
• Daily movement activity
